Our Lady of Fatima Russian Byzantine Catholic Church, a parish in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, is entrusted to the care of the Archbishop of San Francisco. The parish receives its mission from Christ which is to:
As an Eastern Catholic Community, it has the additional mission of being a witness of the living reality of Byzantine Orthodox Christianity in full communion with the Bishop of Rome (Pontiff/Pope of the Catholic Church). This particular mission has been reiterated in the Second Vatican Council’s, “Orientalium Ecclesiarum” (Decree on the Catholic Churches of the Eastern Rite) and the Apostolic Letter of St. John Paul II, “Orientale Lumen” (Light of the East).
The parish is committed to evangelization and outreach and sharing the spiritual and liturgical riches of the Russian Byzantine Catholic Church as part of the Church in America.
